Hope Valley’s Stillwater House comfortably accommodates up to 25 guests for day-use corporate or leadership retreats, utilizing both the upper and lower levels of the space. During the warmer months, it may be possible to host larger groups if outdoor areas are incorporated into your retreat. How many hours can I rent Hope Valley for a one-day retreat?
Hope Valley offers both 4-hour and 8-hour rental options. Please be sure to include time for your group’s set-up and clean-up needs when selecting the best option for your retreat.

Do you rent Hope Valley on Sundays for a one-day retreat?
No. Hope Valley is not available for one-day retreat rentals on Sundays. We reserve Sundays for rest and any needed property clean-up. Overnight guests checking out on Sundays are still welcome to enjoy the amenities until their scheduled checkout time.

Is there a space for larger groups or events?
Not at this time — but stay tuned! Expansion is underway, and additional gathering spaces are planned in 2026.

How many guests can fit in the theater area for presentations?
The theater area includes 12 reclining chairs and two tables with additional chairs, accommodating up to 20 guests for audiovisual presentations or workshops.

What does “DIY Retreat” or “Self-Guided Retreat” mean?
DIY and self-guided retreat means Do-It-Yourself — groups renting Hope Valley for customized retreats are responsible for organizing their own schedule, meals, facilitators, and activities. We provide the space and amenities; you create the experience.

Are facilitators part of Hope Valley’s staff?
No — all facilitators, practitioners, and retreat leaders are third-party professionals. While Hope Valley does not provide in-house facilitation for private retreats, we are happy to connect you with trusted partners if your group requires specific services. If you plan to bring in your own third-party facilitator, please note that a certificate of insurance naming Hope Valley as an additional insured is required at the time of booking.

Does Hope Valley require religious affiliation to attend retreats?
No. While we are a faith-based organization rooted in Christian values, we welcome all guests, regardless of background. We offer prayer and scripture as a support — never as a requirement.

That said, because Hope Valley is founded on Christian principles, we do ask that individuals or organizations refrain from hosting or facilitating spiritual practices that do not align with biblical teaching. We honor the sacredness of our space and strive to maintain an atmosphere that reflects the values of our faith, while still creating a safe and respectful environment for all who enter.

Why does Hope Valley offer yoga?
At Hope Valley, we offer Christ-Centered Yoga, led by a Christ-centered facilitator who incorporates breathwork, gentle movement, and reflection rooted in faith. It is one of the many tools we use to support mind–body wellness and to help individuals on a faith journey.

Why does Hope Valley require a contract for retreat rentals?
As a nonprofit business, we are governed by policies that protect our property, mission, and the experience of our guests. Contracts ensure clarity, legal compliance, and mutual respect.

Why do I need to submit a Certificate of Insurance if my business or organization is just renting space?
Our Board of Directors, insurance advisors, and legal counsel require all retreat hosts to carry liability coverage for their group — even if no professional services are being offered. This protects you, your guests, and Hope Valley.

Is Hope Valley a nonprofit organization?
Yes. Hope Valley is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. While this does not mean services are free, it allows us to offer community wellness programs, educational workshops, and apply for grant funding to support our mission. Your paid workshops and retreat rental fees go directly back into the community through our mission work — your wellness is serving the wellness of the entire community.

Does Hope Valley offer 24/7 staff or support?
No. While we are deeply committed to providing a supportive and welcoming experience, Hope Valley is not a 24/7 operation. As a small but dedicated team, we also value healthy boundaries and time for rest, family, and personal wellness—just like we encourage for our guests.

During your retreat, a staff member may be on site during normal business hours. While we are happy to assist with reasonable needs as they arise, we will not intrude on your experience unless invited. Hope Valley retreats are designed to be self-led, and we trust our guests to honor and steward the space respectfully.

While we can’t anticipate every unexpected inconvenience, we will do our best to be available and responsive outside of standard hours when truly needed. Please note that our property manager does not live on-site, but we maintain systems to ensure that support can be offered when necessary.

Are there food services on site?
We do not offer food services, but guests are welcome to bring their own meals and make full use of our on-site kitchen. We also welcome private chefs or catering.

Why are room prices different?
Each room offers different amenities, such as ensuite bathrooms, number of beds, and square footage, which affects pricing.

Does Hope Valley offer sponsorships or subsidized stays for other organizations?
We do not currently offer sponsorships, but we welcome groups or individuals who have secured outside sponsorship to book with us.

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.  And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
